The Slakas are a 5 piece Nashua-based classic/modern rock, high energy cover band that has been playing local venues & events in the southern NH area since 2004. The band consists of five hard working people that are anything BUT Slakas! Drummer Dave Thorp is a UPS driver by day and high energy drummer by night and is always in a positive mood! Dave Mitchell is an extremely talented & gifted lead guitarist & vocalist. He played in the United States Air Force Band for many years and is retired Military. He also currently plays in the popular Beatles cover band called "Beatlejuice", if you enjoy The Beatles, you need to see them! We "Slakas" are fortunate to have him in our band because he is vital to our overall sound, needless to say, Dave rocks! Don Thoreson has been playing bass in the Nashua area for many years and is one of the best bass players around! You may recognize him from "The Milkcrates", a popular area cover band from the 80's & 90's. Don joined the group in 2018 and has been a fantastic addition to the band! Chris Lussier multi tasks on the keyboards, vocals and rhythm guitar. While stationed in the United States Air Force overseas in England back in the 80's he played in a local cover band and has always enjoyed playing music & entertaining! Deb Lussier has been singing in local cover bands in the Nashua area since the late 90's. The Slakas sound and music has been evolving over the years and they enjoy playing challenging songs that are not widely covered by other bands. They cover a wide variety of artists such as Led Zeppelin, Heart, Journey, Bad Co., Donna Summer, Luke Bryan, Pearl Jam and many many more. Their goal is to play high energy music that will get you up on your feet dancing or at least singing along!
